Since its inauguration in 1798, this theatre has been subjected to numerous reformations. Its present interior is the work of Ricardo Magdalena (1896) who also designed the rear façade in an eclectic neo-classical style. The front of the building was remodelled by the brothers Borobio in 1940, retaining the classical columns. The theatre has seats for 1.100 people-
