The Saiaz Getaria is a lovingly restored old stone tower, a place that manages to be chic and traditional. This 15th Century Gothic house has been transformed as an elegant bed and breakfast. Hotel is ideally placed in the old part of the coastal village of Getaria, standing on the coast of Gipuzkoa, looking to the ocean and sandy beach of Gaztetape.
When you enter the hotel, the sea appears under the basements of its western walls. All these elements give a unique character to every room. Hotel offers 17 rooms bautifully decorated with heavy furniture, noble carpets, antiquities and uncovered stone walls and equipped with modern elements like telephone,WIFI internet connection, telephone, television, ensuite bathroom, air-conditioning, piped music, mini-bar and hair-dryer.
The side of the old tower looking to the sea had to be rebuilt since time had done serious damage to the walls and some of them where missing. They have now the modern ocean view rooms, where you will have the waves bursting right underneath your feet and magnificent far reaching views. The Meeting Room is set in a middle age admosphere, we can offer you the latest facilities such as WIFI internet connection, computers facilities, digital projector. The hotel is also equipped with television lounge, dining room and a terrace with beautiful sea views.
Surroundings: Getaria is a harbor town founded in the 1209 by King Alfonso VIII of Castile, is located approximately 3 kilometres from Zarautz, 6 kilometres from Zumaia and 20 km from San Sebastian-Donostia. The long history of the village has left its marks and Getaria today offers many historic buildings. Seated on a hill above the harbor, it offers a magnificent view on the bay of Getaria and the surrounding buildings, including the church San Salvador de Getaria. From the cliffs of the Gaztetape beach, you can enjoy a magnificent view upon Atlantic and a Medieval ambience, which will invite you into past times.
