The Foret d'Iraty is a natural reserve, since 1986. It’s the biggest wood extension of Europe, and goes through Aezcoa and Salazar Valleys, with the Port de Larrau on the west and Puerto de Ibaneta on the west. Iraty has a different beauty, with absolutely virgin areas, refuge of amazing types of fauna and flora. Hills covered with centenary Hagues pointing to the Irabia dock, surrounded of traditional legends and the Virgen de las Nieves (Snow Virgin) Hermitage are the main attractions.
