Balaguer, on the banks of the Segre river, is crossed by a bridge with seven arches makes a beautiful sight, with Santa Marta's at the top. Other interesting visits include the Convent of Santo Domingo, El Salvador's and the castle of the Counts. Also of interesr is the large, arcaded El Mecadal square.
