Girona Golf Course

  • Girona Golf Course

Golf Girona was inaugurated in 1992. The course was designed by the prestigious architect F.G Hawtre, who described it as one of his finest creations. It has a privileged position in a splendid climate, where you can enjoy playing golf all year round. Situated up in the Girona Mountains only 5 minutes from the city centre of Girona. The course features sweeping valleys of forest pines and umbrella trees, with mostly elevated tee positions. The scenery is beautiful, with mountain backdrops and hills which make the course really testing, as well as very pretty.

The course takes full advantage of the local topography and the natural shape of the terrain, the result being both elegant and pleasing but at the same time offering a challenge to golfers of all levels. Other facilities include a restaurant, snack bar and putting green. There is a Pro Shop, championship management service, etc. and a variety of equipment is available for hire.

Immaculately maintained, it is the only course in Spain sown with 'Pencross Grass' and relies on the topography and natural lie of the land to give it pleasing and elegant features, which in turn provide a challenge for golfers of all levels. The course has a beautiful clubhouse built of natural stone, which makes it blend in perfectly with its surroundings.

The big efforts done by Golf Girona to improve the Golf Course facilities gave it three and a half stars recognition by the prestigious Europe guide "Golf Fee Card" in its 2002 edition. Golf Girona together with the golf courses of the "Costa Brava-Girona association of golf courses" received by the IAGTO on December of 2000 the award as the Best Emerging Golf Destiny in the World.
