  • Modernism in Teruel

The most remarkable buildings are situated around the Torico’s Square (now Carlos Castel), main centre of Teruel, all of the buildings were done by Pablo Monguio built between 1910 and 1912.

La Madrileña and the Casa de Tejidos El Torico.

The Casa Ferran in Nueva Street is the most remarkable exponent of Teruel’s Modernism.

From this point we will ascend going trough the L.Garcia y Esteban and Fortea streets, passing by the tourism office, till reach the Breton Square. There is placed the Casa Bayo ot Los Retales, which balconies are decorated with floral and animal representations. Next to this one in the San Andrés Street, the Imprenta Perruca is placed, in which facade we can see Modernism influences.

This itinerary would end with the visit to the Casa Escriche, in Temprado Street, work of art from Monguio where Modernism and historic are merged.
