Waterfall at Piedra Monastery
The Natural Park of the Monasterio de Piedra (Stone Monastery), 20 kilometres away from Calatayud, contains the waterfalls of the river Piedra and it is one of the most beautiful places in Spain. The Cistercian Monastery founded in thr 13th century is a National Monument and it harbours the Museum of the Wine of the Certificate of Origin of Calatayud.
The Church, in which the beaty of the cloister stands out, is Gothic with Renaissance and Baroque elements. Is main attraction, however, is the nature park where it lies. The river Piedra flows through the park and its crystal-clear, transparent waters form lovely waterfalls and lakes.
