The Ademuz Corner

  • Ademuz, Teruel

The Ademuz Corner is a mountainous detached piece of Valencia province sand-wiched between the provinces of Teruel and Cuenca (Castilla-La Mancha). It makes a picturesque alternative route between Teruel town and the provinces of Valencia or Cuenca. The most spectacular stretch is the rough and winding 17km of the old N-330A, south from the town of Ademuz (a steep but unremarkable little place) to Santa Cruz de Moya. Starting along the deepening gorge of the upper Rio Turia, the road crosses into Castilla-La Mancha in quite spectacular fashion. This section (and Ademuz town itself) are bypassed by the main N-330. so you need to head into Ademuz via Torrebaja – or from the south through-Manzaneruela to Santa Cruz de Moya.

The N-420 west from the Rincon de Ademuz skirts the southern hills of the Serrania de Cuenca en coute to Cuenca. The first 15km or so are a bit of an adventura owing to the road’s poor condition.
Transportation: buses to/from Teruel (one a day except Sunday and holidays) and Valencia (twice daily).
