El Rodeno, Teruel
The back road leading southeast from Albarracin towards Bezas passes near a seroes pf Neolithic rock paintings known as the Conjunto de Arte Rupestre el Rodeno de Albarracin, among pretty and boulder-strewn countryside. There are 12 lots of paintings in all, in four of five groups, up to 1,4km off the road from turnings between 3,5km and 5km from the edge of Albarracin.
The Albarracin tourist office has a small map showing the sites, aznd there are sings and explanatory plaques along the way. The clearest, showing bulls, horses and deer, are Los Toricos, at Navazo. No buses run this way, but if it’s not too hot you can walk, by part of the GR-10 long-distance path. This diverges (unmarked) to the left from the Bezas road on the south adge of Albarracin, about 100m south of a fork with GR-10, information panels and a Pinturas Rupestres’ sign.
