  Sanctuary of Meritxell

Sanctuary of Andorra's Patron Saint. The oldest building dates from 1658 and was built on top of the remains of a Romanesque structure.

After a fire destroyed the chapel in 1972, the General Council entrusted the project for the new sanctuary to Ricardo Bofill and this was inaugurated in 1976. Open to the public from 9.15 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m. Closed on Tuesdays.
