The 4 star Villa Soro is a charming 25 bedroom hotel located in a renovated 19th Century palace which has been declared a Historical Heritage Building of San Sebastian Donostia. Hotel Villa Soro is located in the centre of San Sebastian, within a five minute walk of the Zurriola beach, the Kursaal Concert and Convention Center and the old part of town. The Hotel is an outstanding new address for the discerning traveller, offering a harmonious balance between the warm and familiar atmosphere of a century-old home and the comfort and services of a luxury hotel.
This stately home, situated on Avenida de Ategorrieta, was built in 1898 by Don Ramon Londaiz for his daughter Maria on the occasion of her engagement to Don Luis Gaytan de Ayala. For several generations, the Gaytan de Ayala family has lived in this home, which was known by the name of Eguzki Soro. Hotel Villa Soro has been recently renovated in its integrity with high quality materials, respecting the late 19th Century style of the house and accentuating its uniqueness and extraordinary beauty.
The main building has 15 magnificent bedrooms located on several floors. The other rooms are located in the former carriage house, who’s façade is covered with English style bricks. Tranquillity, warmth and courtesy are the main characteristics of Villa Soro. A garden specially designed by the French landscape designer Ducasse in 1898, pleasant living areas reminiscing the family atmosphere of this stately home, and a very professional team permanently at your service.
We want your stay in Villa Soro to be a unique experience. For this reason, the rooms have been designed to enhance the sense of wellbeing and tranquillity. Each bedroom in Villa Soro is different. Refined details, plush fabrics, precious woods and natural light are some of the characteristics of our bedrooms, all of which have been decorated with art from local artists such as Jorge Oteiza, among others. All the rooms are equipped with separate bath and shower, hair dryer, safe, individually controlled air conditioning, television featuring the main international channels and individual internet connection.
Villa Soro’s bedrooms also feature a complimentary mini-bar service with water, soft drinks and juices. In the morning, Hotel offers a hearty and delicious breakfast which you may choose to enjoy in the privacy of your bedroom or in the dining room, located in the former “serre” or winter garden.
The world renowned, three-star Michelin restaurant Arzak is only 500 metres or a two minute walk from Villa Soro, while the other highly regarded restaurants that make up San Sebastian’s magnificent gastronomic experience are only minutes away by car.
Villa Soro offers a limited number of parking spaces in the garage inside the villa. We also have parking spaces in the garden. Villa Soro can host meetings for up to 30 persons (seated). Hotel can organise your transfer to and from one of the three nearby airports; Bilbao, San Sebastian / Fuenterrabia or Biarritz.
